Passing through South Pasadena

If you’re looking for a quiet getaway filled with vintage shopping and quaint cafes, the South Pasadena stop on the Gold Line is for you.

The store Videotheque is a throwback to the ‘90s. You walk in and immediately get flashbacks of Blockbuster. They have movies categorized anywhere from a specific country to a specific actor which you can buy or rent (I know, so old-school).

They also have vinyl records, which you can even listen to in the store.

I did grab some food at La Monarca Bakery next door. They have treats such as danishes, cinnamon rolls, and conchas.

I ended the day by getting ice cream at Moo on Mission. It’s a cute little place where you can enjoy their famous root beer float, a piece of pie or many other treats to satisfy that sweet tooth.

So, if Los Angeles isn’t quite your scene, spend an afternoon browsing through movies and enjoying treats in South Pasadena.
